BUSKER :: Temporary Closure
Sunday, December 16, 2007 5:17 PM
!!LONG OVERDUE!! ::
BUSKER has temporarily disbanded due to Tamas and Nicholas moving out of the flowershoppe. Although our separation has been sad, we hope to start working on curatorial projects in the future in collaboration with other great Chicago art spaces. If you'd still like to get in touch with BUSKER, please contact Nicholas O'Brien, you can find his info in the contact section.
We hope to be back up soon. And sorry to all those that didn't get this information and tried to book shows with us. We hope we can try and collaborate on something in the future.
best

busker @ the flowershop
Monday, August 14, 2006 11:00 AM
After a long, arduous move, we are making progress. The first floor of the flowershop has been pressure washed, and the greenhouse is now the new home of busker. The new busker will feature a DIY rear-projection system (currently under construction), comfortable seating on a number of couches, and a sunroof. There is also a band practice corner courtesy of the other flowershop tenants.
Busker is relocating!
Saturday, May 13, 2006 9:21 AM
Busker is moving out of 1087 N Hermitage Ave, and we are relocating. The leases of the tenants of this building have been terminated without option for renewal. Our ex-landlords confided with us that 1087 N Hermitage Ave Inc. plans to knock the building down, and participate in the trends of hideous new development projects. We have been hunting for new locations and have found some very promising ones with interesting opportunities. We will not be situated in this neighborhood but we will be looking to secure a space that is equally accessible.
After the relocation process, Busker will continue its new media programming objectives and provide space and resources to facilitate critical discourse in these mediums in a new environment. We will post info on our progress of finding and securing a new place as time goes on.
CALL FOR ENTRIES: AV is not TV
Tuesday, April 18, 2006 12:23 AM
MAY 5 @ Busker: AV is Not TV will be an evening of experimental audio visual performances, by Taeyoon Kim, Brendan Pete and Morgan Higby-Flowers.
We are asking for an open submission of media (Video, Animation, Found Footage [video.google.com, youtube.com etc...] and Text.) This pool of media will be used in a series of collaberative remixes. This event hopes to promote colaboration while giving you a chance to see your media in a fricken serious video freak out.
The Performers and their systems have been marinating in this zesty pool of your donated media and are ready to be grilled up for a fricken serious new media pot luck.
